Peter - it is none of your business if the site gets sold. Although if you can point me to a law that says otherwise I would be happy to stand corrected.

well I didn’t get anyone in Council to let me pull down anything….I am George T…I have no interest in this land..never have, never will….not sure who you are confusing me for!
However, I would guess that the land owner (or someone with the landowner’s consent/knowledge) applied for a planning permit to demolish the building. Council issued a Notice of Decision to grant the planning permit for the demolition and Peter applied to VCAT for a review of the Council decision. VCAT upheld the Council decision and a permit was granted. Building is demolished…end of story.
Now, if you, Peter or any other green-voting, far-north Brunswick living, soy-latte drinking, organic vege growing, NIMBY hyprocrites have any problem with the way Council has conducted itself I suggest you lodge a complaint to the Victorian Ombudsman.
If you didn’t agree with the decision of VCAT you could either suck eggs or appeal to the Supreme Court on a point of law.
Of course we all know that you NIMBYs are gutless wimps and you will do neither, preferring to have a sook on blogs and vote in green candidates who will sell their ideals for a handfull of votes.

I do not understand what the drama is with the site being redeveloped from the eye sore that it is/was and if someone feels so strongly about the development not going ahead, why do they not dig in there own pockets by the land and turn it into a veggie patch. Otherwise leave it to the people who have the balls to take a risk.

I was going to use the word ‘intelligence’ for which over-estimate would be appropriate, but you just can’t use ‘intelligence’ in the same universe, let alone the same sentence as NIMBY.
